Q. What is Live For Speed (LFS)?
A. Live for Speed is a serious racing simulator. No arcade modes, no steering aids – YOU have to do the driving. It is therefore highly recommended to drive the sim with a steering wheel, because even though you can use keyboard and/or mouse, a wheel is what you use in a real car, so a wheel should be used in a serious racing simulator. Especially when going online, where fast reactions are required. You can try the demo or purchase the game at www.lfs.net.
Q. What is a cruise server?
A. Cruise servers are specific game modes in the game Live For Speed which take the fast paced action of simracing away. The idea is that you drive around the track with your friends and earn money. You can also work by doing deliveries and earn money from that. Once you have enough money you can purchase a better car.
Q. How do I earn money quickly?
A. There is no real answer for that. It all the depends on how much you play and your strategy. The best practice is to start doing long runs with bonuses and continue driving as that bonus rises.
Q. What is a bonus?
A. On the Reality Cruise server there are two types of bonuses. I will describe them both below.Distance Bonus This type of bonus is based on the distance you drive without switching your car or going into spectate/pits mode. For every 50 kilometers that you drive, you will receive a bonus. There are two different modes for this bonus: Long range– and standard-mode. The amount of bonus that you gain in longrange mode is calculated by a simple formula: €100 * Bonus number = Bonus gained The bonus number is the amount of times you’ve received a 50 kilometer bonus without destroying it. So if you did two 50 kilometer bonuses you would gain €100 for the first bonus and €200 for the second. Each extra time you do the bonus it increases by €100. The maximum payment for this bonus is capped at 10.000€ (Bonus number 100). The amount of bonus that you gain in standart mode is: €1000 for every 50 driven kilometer Unlike the longrange mode, the standard mode distance bonus does not increase its value. You can switch the bonus mode by typing “!bonus” ingame. Be aware that this resets your current bonus to zero. Bank Bonus This type of bonus is different to the distance bonus. You receive this bonus for every hour you have driven on your session. Disconnecting from the server will destroy the session. For every hour that you drive, you will gain 1% of interest on what is on your bank account. The bonus will be paid out in your cash. Note that depositing or withdrawing money from the bank will reset the bank bonus timer back to one hour.
Q. Where can I find a map of all the shops available in the server?
A. To find the shop locations you must use the !gps command which will allow you to navigate to the shop that you select. There are also some usermade maps in the information section of our forum.
Q. Where can I get a job?
A. To get a job in the server use the !gps command and navigate to the Job Agency. There you will be able to pick up some items and the cruise system will give you further instructions. You can find the delivery points with the GPS too.
Q. What is the purpose of cops on the server?
A. Cops in the server will chase you if you break any road laws. This involves but is not limited to speeding, wrong way driving, illegal parking, street racing and dangerous driving.
Once you are caught, the cop will either warn you or fine you depending on the condition of the chase.
Q. How do I become a cop?
A. To become a cop you must apply in the Cop Section on our forum. If you meet the basic requirements, you will be given a test with a cop trainer and if you pass you will be allowed to work as a cop.
